Found a pretty ugly cork board in my parents' basement and decided to pretty it up:
Fabric is attached with spray adhesive and then a few staples around the edges just to be sure, as this website suggested. Ribbon was attached with tacky glue and held on with push pins in the corners until it dried.
I'm pretty happy with it: it certainly livens up the all-white office, plus it was very green, being re-used and all. :) If I had to do it again, I would use a paint brush to smooth out the line of tacky glue before laying down the ribbon, as you can see the dark line of glue through the middle of the ribbon. I refrained from making fabric-covered thumbtacks, choosing sanity instead.
